Michael Sanders a native of Smyrna, Georgia, has spent the last fifteen years entertaining a multitude of audiences from his sold out standup comedy routines to film and TV.
After serving four years in the United States Army, in 1998, Michael was headed to The Punchline Comedy Club in Atlanta, GA to pursue a career in standup comedy. A year later, Michael made his debut in professional wrestling working for both (WCW) World Championship Wrestling and (WWE) World Wrestling Entertainment, where he was affectionately known as "Above Average" Mike Sanders. He went on to become a cruiser-weight champion, the WCW commissioner and leader of The Natural Born Thrillers. Following his pro wrestling days, Michael pursued his love of being a stand-up comedian headlining comedy clubs throughout the US. Michael’s passion to entertain did not stop there. He was given the opportunity to audition for Army Wives taking his first step into the acting arena. Casting was so impressed with Michael’s audition they offered him a larger role than the one he auditioned for. He continued to capture the eye of several casting directors which lead to roles on such shows as Homeland, Burn Notice, Necessary Roughness, Single Ladies and Tyler Perry’s, The Haves and The Have Not’s along with the upcoming Halt and Catch Fire. In addition to his TV roles you will find Michael on the big screen in the highly anticipated feature film Devil’s Knot with Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth.
Michael’s vast entertainment experience’s has opened doors for him to Host/Emcee Fortune 500 companies and corporations such as Delta, Coca-Cola , KPMG, Trane, ASI Partners and Kiewit Southern to name a few.
His natural talent, charisma and skills continue to put Michael in the spotlight with casting directors, directors and producers as he continues on the road of his entertainment career.
